We are the youth ministry at Blessed Sacrament Church and we are here to help the young and the young at heart in their lifelong journey of loving God. Loving God begins by first embracing His love for you, and it is through the Gospels, the Living Word, that we are able to truly experience this unconditional love. The loving heart of our Father awaits you. So come join us as we make this journey together. Welcome to WORD. Youth Ministry.

Posted by Daniel in Apologetics on November 09, 2009

Many Protestants will state that Catholics think they can work their way to heaven. They will usually throw out a verse or two of scripture and wag their finger at us.

Here are a couple I have heard often:
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from you; it is the gift of God;
Ephesians 2:9 it is not from works, so no one may boast.

Romans 3:20 because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law {comes} the knowledge of sin.

So on the surface you would think they may be on to something, however they are not! They couldn't be more wrong.
